    Rephrasing

Rephrasing is one of the most important tools for intermediate students as it allows you to express ideas in different ways.

This ability to manipulate language is often required in reading and listening comprehension activities, as well as in transformation grammar exercises.

Apart from a certain linguistic "sensitivity", you can achieve quite an acceptable degree of competence by doing rephrasing exercises.

    Some tips for rephrasing
1. Identify the grammar point the sentence is testing (i.e. passive, modals, ...).
2. Make sure your sentence has the same meaning as the original.
3. Make sure it makes sense.
4. Check for grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes.
